She’s thoughtful, brave, and constantly navigating hard decisions, which made her journey feel real and relatable, not just heroic. I really enjoyed the world of the Kingdom of Xi. It’s creative, vivid, and easy to imagine, without feeling overwhelming. The story flows well and keeps you engaged, but what stood out most to me were the deeper themes, responsibility, integrity, unity, and what it truly means to lead with purpose. This is the kind of book that entertains you while also leaving you thinking long after you’ve finished it. If you enjoy a novel you become easily immersed into with heart, meaning, and a powerful female lead, I’d definitely recommend this one.

A thoroughly invigorating story and adventure.
This is a great historical novel with exciting twists and turns happening in every chapter. I can't wait for the audio book to come out for this book. An exhilarating voyage through the Ancient lands of Mali and the adventures of Abubakari the II, his family and his expansion of the Mali Empire beyond the borders of Africa. I enjoyed this read immensely. It was very entertaining.
